BARROW NEUROSURGICAL ASSOCIATES OPENS NEW SPINE CARE CENTER

On March 2, 2009 Barrow Neurosurgical Associates (BNA) opened the NeuroSpine and Rehab Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide BNA’s patients with both imaging services and non-surgical options for the treatment of spine disorders.   At the 16,000 square foot Center, BNA patients will now have access to spine assessment, diagnostic imaging, pain management and rehabilitation services from the name they trust most in spine care.

Since surgery is not a solution for many of BNA’s spine patients, an expansion of BNA’s service offering was developed to meet the needs of its non-surgical patients.  According to BNA’s Chairman, Robert F. Spetzler, M.D., “When we envisioned the center, we knew that it was important for our patients to have access to a wide range of spine care services using an integrated, seamless approach.  We wanted our patients to have both surgical and non-surgical options to treat their complex or common back problems – in one place – with a dedicated team of providers that communicate well with each other and with each patient.”  For patients with spinal disorders, BNA’s NeuroSpine and Rehab Center complements the world-class surgical offering of BNA to provide a continuum of care unrivaled in Arizona, and beyond. 

Led by board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialists Raj Singh, M.D., Gregory Umphrey, M.D., and Parul Goel, M.D., the NeuroSpine and Rehab Center is dedicated to helping each patient to return to as normal a life as possible, as quickly as possible. Both doctors are strong believers in partnering with patients to enhance the rehabilitation process; they recognize that the patient’s outlook and commitment to a treatment plan can dramatically affect its outcome.  Dr. Singh, the Medical Director of the Center, adds, “With the patient’s involvement, rehabilitation can improve quality of life, restore maximum function and, in many cases, prevent recurrence.”
